Nearly 2,000 new graduates of Nguyen Tat Thanh University shone brightly on their graduation day at the Graduation Ceremony for regular undergraduate and transition program students, phase 1 of 2026. After years of dedicated effort in the lecture halls, the new bachelors, engineers, and pharmacists officially concluded their academic journey to confidently step into a new phase with a toolkit of knowledge, skills, resilience, and youth aspirations.
The graduation ceremony marks a memorable milestone for the new graduates coming from 10 training units, including the Faculty of Creative Communications, Faculty of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Finance – Accounting, Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology, Faculty of Tourism, Faculty of Information Technology, Faculty of Business Administration, Department of Joint Training, Faculty of Performing Arts, and NIIE NTT Bilingual Institute.

From technology, applied sciences, business, and finance to communications, foreign languages, tourism, and arts, each graduate carries their own career choice. Yet on this special day, nearly 2,000 young individuals share the exact same pride: having completed their university path through perseverance, a proactive spirit, and the determination to conquer the goals ahead.
More than just a moment of receiving degrees, the ceremony also marked the growth journey of the new graduates – from the initial days filled with unfamiliarity upon entering the lecture halls, to the hours of classes, practical sessions, projects, internships, and experiences that helped learners step-by-step refine their capabilities, ready to integrate into the professional environment.
When a Degree is More Than Just a Destination
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Meritorious Teacher Nguyen Kim Hong – President of Nguyen Tat Thanh University – extended his congratulations to the new graduates for completing a journey of great effort. He also expressed deep gratitude to the parents who have always accompanied, supported, and served as a solid anchor for them throughout their academic journey, while sharing a message with the graduates about the true meaning of a degree on the path ahead.
According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Meritorious Teacher Nguyen Kim Hong, graduation day is a proud milestone, but not the end of learning. Today’s degree recognizes the perseverance of the new graduates after years of studying and training; simultaneously, it opens up a new phase where each individual must take greater responsibility for their career choices, the values they create, and the community they will serve.

From those early days of feeling overwhelmed by university life, the graduates have navigated professional lectures, practical labs, group assignments, capstone projects, internships, and real-world experiences. Some lessons came from textbooks, but others only truly took shape when students had to find ways to solve a problem on their own, calmly correct a mistake, listen to differing opinions, coordinate with a team, and persist until the very end with their assigned task.
It is a process through which a learner not only accumulates knowledge but also matures step-by-step in mindset, attitude, and resilience. For society does not just need people with credentials; it needs individuals who can work with competence, practice their profession with ethics, and place their responsibility within the context of relationships with others, organizations, and the community.
Guided by that orientation, Nguyen Tat Thanh University focuses on building a practice-associated educational environment where students learn through experience, hone professional skills, develop proactive thinking, and build adaptability to changes in the labor market. The university hopes that as they step out from the lecture halls, the graduates will carry not only professional knowledge but also the confidence to keep learning, the kindness to engage with life, and the sense of responsibility to create positive values.

In the solemn atmosphere of the ceremony, Nguyen Tat Thanh University rewarded the valedictorians and 38 graduates who graduated with High Distinction from 10 training units.
Behind every achievement lies a process that was by no means smooth: long hours of self-study, assignments and projects revised multiple times, practical phases requiring utmost precision, and group projects demanding patience and a collaborative spirit. The awards presented on graduation day not only recognize academic results but also acknowledge the resilience of the graduates in following through with their goals to the very end.

Among those outstanding faces, the story of Tran Thao Uyen – the valedictorian of the Piano major, Faculty of Performing Arts, with a GPA of 3.75/4.0 – leaves a deeply emotional impression.
Before studying Piano at NTTU, Thao Uyen had graduated with a degree in Business Administration and worked an office job in Ho Chi Minh City. Having established a stable career, she decided to return to university at the age of 30 to pursue music systematically.
From practicing the piano after work hours, slowly reading each note, correcting every beat, and adjusting her hand postures, the piano gradually became a serious career path for Uyen. At NTTU, she gained access to a well-structured training curriculum ranging from classical piano foundations to highly applicable subjects such as light music, jazz, harmony, composition, and accompaniment, while simultaneously honing her performance confidence, professional mindset, and teaching capacity.
The graduation exam featuring 5 pieces within a duration of 30 to 45 minutes posed a major challenge, requiring the performer to master technique, memory, emotion, and stage pressure. After four years of studying while balancing work and practice time, Thao Uyen completed that journey by earning the title of valedictorian of the Piano major.

Building on the recognition given to these exemplary new graduates, NTTU continues to extend a longer commitment to postgraduate education.
The university awarded master’s scholarships worth 50% of the entire course tuition fee to graduates with outstanding achievements. The scholarship applies to 16 prominent master’s training programs at the Institute of Postgraduate Studies, with a corresponding value of up to 60 million VND.
More than just an award, the scholarship serves as an empowerment for the graduates to continue studying, conducting research, and growing professionally. With an application-oriented approach, the postgraduate programs at NTTU are designed to blend specialized knowledge, real-world projects, applied research, and the professional development needs of learners.
From a bachelor’s degree, learners can continue to open up a new journey – deeper in expertise, broader in opportunities, and more steadfast in their professions.

Representing the graduates, Le Thanh Nhan – an Information Technology student from the 2022 cohort – shared that university years are not just about acquiring specialized knowledge, but also a time to learn self-study, self-correction, teamwork, time management, and taking responsibility for one’s choices.

As a female student majoring in Information Technology, Nhan used to hear stereotypes that this field was better suited for men. However, her own learning and experiences helped her realize that gender does not determine how far a person can go. What matters is earnestness, a self-learning spirit, perseverance, and accountability toward one’s chosen path.
“The opportunities of youth do not lie in everything being ready, but in our courage to begin,” Nhan shared.
From her story, Nhan expressed gratitude to the lecturers who dedicatedly guided, feedbacked, and empowered students to challenge themselves; to friends who accompanied her through assignments, capstones, and projects; and especially to her family – a silent but steadfast anchor throughout her journey of growth.
Those reflections also served as a bridge to a special highlight of the ceremony: a piano performance by the valedictorian, Tran Thao Uyen.
Dressed in her graduation gown, Uyen sat at the piano and let the music continue her story. The melodies that resonated were more than just an artistic performance; they were a narrative of her journey from an office job, practicing piano after working hours, to four years of rigorous study and earning the title of valedictorian of the Piano major.

“Youth requires resilience” – the message Uyen conveyed wasn’t just for music students. It was a note for all young individuals facing new choices: dare to start even when you don’t feel entirely ready, don’t give up when the journey turns challenging, and remain resolute enough to follow through with what you believe in.
As the music concluded amidst rounds of applause, its echoes opened up a more profound moment: when the new graduates turned toward those who had silently helped them reach this day.
During the parental gratitude ritual, all graduates placed their right hands over their left chests. The entire hall fell into a hushed silence as they took a moment of reflection to remember their parents, families, and loved ones who had supported them from the day they selected their university applications to graduation day.
It could be the meals kept warm after late-night classes, an encouraging phone call during stressful exam periods, financial and moral support for their education, simple words of motivation, or just the silent faith of the family in their growing child.
As the graduates bowed in unison, that moment was not only for the parents present in the hall. It was also a message of gratitude sent to loved ones watching from afar, those who stepped back into the background so that their children could confidently step forward.

Following this expression of gratitude, the ceremony continued with the oath-taking ritual – a professional commitment delivered by exemplary new graduates in the presence of University leadership, faculty members, parents, and the entire graduating class.
The words were spoken like a solemn covenant: to bring the acquired knowledge, skills, and capacities into the workforce with honesty, accountability, and a sense of contribution to society.
Because after graduation day, the new graduates do not just begin a job. They step into a new role – specialized professionals with work ethics and social responsibility toward the community.

Others will continue to pursue graduate studies, research, entrepreneurship, the arts, or further development within their chosen domains. But before splitting into those new directions, they all met at a shared crossroad of pride: completing their university chapter under the roof of Nguyen Tat Thanh University.
