Within the framework of the 2026 Green Summer Volunteer Campaign, the Faculty of Medicine at Nguyen Tat Thanh University, in collaboration with Chanh Hung General Hospital, implemented the “Volunteer White Blouse” and “Borderland Affection” programs in Tay Ninh Province. The activity not only leveraged the professional expertise of the faculty, doctors, and medical students, but also spread the spirit of responsibility, compassion, and the youth’s aspiration to contribute to the community.
In Vinh Hung Commune, the “Volunteer White Blouse” program organized medical examinations, health consultations, and free medicine distribution for 200 local residents. The team of doctors, lecturers, and volunteer students directly conducted general check-ups, provided advice on common ailments, offered guidance on nutrition, healthcare, and disease prevention, and dispensed medications according to professional medical prescriptions.

In addition, the Faculty of Medicine at Nguyen Tat Thanh University also presented gifts containing essential items to local residents, sharing hardships and contributing to enhancing the quality of primary healthcare in the locality.
It can be said that “Volunteer White Blouse” not only brought practical support to local people but also demonstrated the spirit of “using expertise to serve the community” among students of the Faculty of Medicine at Nguyen Tat Thanh University. Each direct check-up, each conversation with local residents, or each gift handed out became practical lessons in medical ethics, empathy, and professional responsibility—values that lecture halls can hardly convey in full.

Continuing the volunteer journey, the delegation had the opportunity to visit Long Khot Border Guard Station (Tay Ninh Provincial Border Guard Command), coordinating with the Station’s Youth Union branch to organize exchange activities, traditional education sessions, and learning about national border sovereignty protection tasks.
Here, the delegation visited the barracks, learned about the unit’s heroic tradition, offered incense in memory of fallen heroes at the Long Khot Station National Historical Relic Area, and engaged in exchanges with officers and soldiers serving at the frontline of the Fatherland.

Through real-life stories about the lives and duties of Border Guard soldiers, students of the Faculty of Medicine had the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the silent sacrifices made in safeguarding territorial sovereignty, thereby fostering patriotism, a sense of responsibility, and a dedication to society. This was also an opportunity for young people to strengthen exchanges, bond, and promote their vanguard role in community volunteer activities.

According to Ho Lam Hung—a 3rd-year General Medicine student at Nguyen Tat Thanh University—directly participating in free medical check-ups, medicine distribution, and exchanges with officers and soldiers at Long Khot Border Guard Station was an invaluable experience, helping Hung and his peers deeply comprehend a physician’s duty toward the community.
The program not only created opportunities to apply professional knowledge to practical situations, but also cultivated medical ethics, a spirit of dedication, and patriotism, serving as motivation for not only Lam Hung but all students at Nguyen Tat Thanh University to continue striving in learning, training, and serving society in the future.
The Green Summer Volunteer Campaign is not only a meaningful volunteer journey, but also a practical environment for students to hone their professional skills, mature in character, strength of mind, and civic awareness, staying ready to contribute to the nation’s development.
Through community-oriented activities, expressing gratitude to policy beneficiary families, engaging with forces on duty at border areas, and contributing to solving practical societal issues, students gain opportunities to apply knowledge to reality, nurturing a sense of responsibility, compassion, and a spirit of service.
This is also an occasion for the young generation to fulfill their vanguard role, spreading the volunteer spirit and contributing to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, aiming toward fast and sustainable national development in the new era.
