The Faculty of Finance – Accounting at Nguyen Tat Thanh University has successfully integrated the Sustainable Supply Chain program of the International Supply Chain Education Alliance (ISCEA), USA, into the training programs for Accounting and Finance – Banking, helping students access knowledge on ESG and obtain the international CSSCP (Certified Sustainable Supply Chain Professional) certificate issued by ISCEA.

In the context where sustainable development is increasingly becoming a critical requirement for businesses and financial institutions, the demand for human resources with knowledge and skills related to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), green finance, risk management, and sustainability reporting is continuously growing.

Particularly, supply chain activities have a close connection with sustainable development goals as they impact multiple stages in production, business, and distribution processes. ISCEA’s documentation shows that activities within the supply chain can account for the majority of an organization’s greenhouse gas emissions, thereby raising the demand for human resources capable of managing supply chains sustainably.

Catching onto this trend, the Faculty of Finance – Accounting at Nguyen Tat Thanh University focuses on incorporating sustainable development contents into training activities, thereby helping students update new demands of the labor market and the international business environment. The training programs for students in Finance – Banking and Accounting have successfully integrated ISCEA’s training content. Directly teaching the program is Prof. Dr. Premkumar Rajagopal – President of the Malaysia University of Science and Technology (MUST), one of the leading experts in the field of supply chains. Within the framework of the training program, students of the Faculty of Finance – Banking are introduced to two curriculum modules: “Sustainable Finance and Banking” and “Sustainable Accounting and Reporting”. These are fields playing an increasingly important role in the transition toward green sustainable growth models and responsible business development.

Through these modules, students of the Faculty of Finance – Accounting at Nguyen Tat Thanh University also have the opportunity to explore the relationship between financial and accounting activities and environmental, social, and governance factors; the role of financial institutions, especially Green Banks in promoting sustainable activities; as well as how to integrate ESG criteria into decision-making processes. In addition, learners are exposed to issues related to green finance, responsible investment, climate risk management, and sustainability reporting.

According to the curriculum orientation, after completing the learning content and achieving passing scores on the course exams, students will have the opportunity to be granted the CSSCP (Certified Sustainable Supply Chain Professional) certificate—a professional certification in sustainable supply chains—by the International Supply Chain Education Alliance (ISCEA), an international supply chain educational organization from the USA.

The thematic course on sustainable supply chains attracts the participation of a large number of students from the Faculty of Finance – Accounting

ISCEA is an organization operating in the field of education, certification, and professional accreditation in supply chain management. The CSSCP certificate focuses on the increasingly important role of sustainability in supply chains, equipping learners with knowledge related to sustainable practices, ESG governance, and requirements for tracking and sustainability reporting.

Accessing a training program associated with an international professional certificate right from university provides students with opportunities to expand their knowledge and elevate their professional capacity. Particularly, in a context where enterprises are increasingly paying attention to sustainable development standards, workers who possess the capability to analyze, evaluate, and integrate ESG factors into financial, accounting, and supply chain operations will hold more advantages in the modern working environment.

For students majoring in Finance – Banking and Accounting at Nguyen Tat Thanh University, the program not only supplements specialized knowledge but also helps learners form interdisciplinary thinking, connecting finance and accounting with sustainable supply chains and sustainable development goals. This is also an opportunity for students to familiarize themselves with new career trends, where positions related to green finance, ESG, sustainability reporting, and risk management are increasingly valued by businesses and banks.

Through the training program with Prof. Dr. Premkumar Rajagopal, the Faculty of Finance – Accounting at Nguyen Tat Thanh University continues to expand learning opportunities tied to international trends for students. Combining specialized knowledge with sustainable development contents and the professional certificate “Sustainable Supply Chain” contributes to enhancing the professional capacity, adaptability, and integration spirit of students in a global economic context that is shifting toward green growth and sustainable development.
