On September 18, 2026, the Faculty of Nursing at Nguyen Tat Thanh University held the 2nd International Nursing Scientific Conference 2026, attracting a large number of domestic and international experts, lecturers, and healthcare professionals alongside students and trainees from the University’s Faculty of Nursing.

The successful organization of the International Nursing Scientific Conference for the second time demonstrates that the scientific research activities of the Faculty of Nursing are gradually being sustained and deepened. More than just a platform for publishing research outcomes, the conference provided an interactive space for experts, scientists, lecturers, and learners to exchange issues directly tied to education and professional practice.

Throughout the program, key topics of modern nursing were brought to discussion, ranging from patient safety, clinical practice, simulation-based education to technology application, digital transformation, and patient-centered care. Thereby, the conference contributed to bridging scientific knowledge with professional practice, while enabling faculty members and students to stay updated on emerging trends in nursing amidst growing demands for high quality and humanistic healthcare.

A flagship discipline asserting educational reputation

Delivering the opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Meritorious Teacher Nguyen Kim Hong, President of NTTU, emphasized that Nursing is currently one of the disciplines with the largest student enrollment, leading the entire university in total student headcount—a testament to the educational reputation and rising trust that learners place in NTTU’s Nursing program.

However, as the scale expands, responsibility for quality assurance becomes even heavier. The University management expects the Faculty of Nursing to simultaneously elevate educational quality, advance scientific research, innovate teaching methods, and strengthen the link between theoretical knowledge and clinical practice—thereby equipping learners with professional competence and adaptability to meet evolving demands in healthcare.

Over 30 domestic and international scientific presentations

Opening the conference, the plenary session addressed two highly practical clinical topics: Dr. Vuong Thi Nhat Le (Cho Ray Hospital) presented on peripheral intravenous catheter-related complications and preventive solutions, while Prof. Adam Montagu – Director of the Adelaide Health Simulation Center (Australia) – shared an international perspective on simulation as a teaching methodology rather than a mere technological tool.

Following the plenary session, the conference split into three concurrent thematic sessions, held animatedly across halls A801, A802, and A803. In the Vietnamese-language session, speakers from Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, Gia Dinh People’s Hospital, Pham Ngoc Thach Hospital, and Oncology Hospital presented research on nursing students’ learning styles, sleep disorders in heart failure patients, skin lesions in respiratory patients, and the efficacy of silver ion dressings in treating infected wounds. Concurrently, the English-language session brought together local and international speakers discussing humanistic care in nursing in the digital age, nurses’ knowledge and attitudes toward LGBT patient care, and the efficacy of integrating simulation into preclinical training.

The academic atmosphere was further enriched in the exhibition area featuring 16 poster presentations in both Vietnamese and English. Most of these were conducted by lecturers, graduate students, and undergraduate students of NTTU’s Faculty of Nursing, alongside contributions from authors representing Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, Hung Vuong Hospital, and various other institutions, highlighting the vibrant research movement among nursing students.

Expanding partnerships towards enhancing educational quality

Building upon the academic foundation established at the conference, the Presidential Board of Nguyen Tat Thanh University expects the Faculty of Nursing to continue expanding its collaborative network with medical facilities, training institutions, and domestic and international partners; enhancing professional exchanges, scientific research, and practical experience sharing. This also serves as a groundwork for the faculty to continually improve educational quality, integrate recent advancements in healthcare into the curriculum, and create further opportunities for faculty members and students to engage in diverse academic environments.
