The White Coat Ceremony for Odonto-Stomatology students of Nguyen Tat Thanh University, intakes 2024 and 2025, was recently held in a solemn and emotional atmosphere. Far beyond marking a milestone of maturity for the learners, the program forged a profound bond among the University, Families, and Students on the path of training future Odonto-Stomatology doctors.
The white coat is not merely a uniform but a symbol of knowledge, responsibility, compassion, and a lifelong commitment to the mission of community healthcare. The moment of donning the very first white coat always stands as a sacred and unforgettable milestone in the journey of maturity for every Odonto-Stomatology student.
With the desire to transform this milestone into a beautiful memory not only for the students but also for their families, the Faculty of Odonto-Stomatology – Nguyen Tat Thanh University solemnly organized a parent networking program combined with the White Coat Ceremony for Odonto-Stomatology students of the 2024 and 2025 cohorts. The event not only left a distinctive signature of NTTU Odonto-Stomatology but also opened a new chapter of connection and companionship between families and the university in fostering future Odonto-Stomatology Doctors.
NTTU – Where Parents Witness Their Children’s Dreams
One of the special and meaningful activities during the parent networking program was the “Wish Canvas of NTTU Odonto-Stomatology Students”. Each student wrote down their greatest aspiration regarding their academic and professional paths, which were then pieced together into a collective canvas representing the distinct identity of each cohort.
Some students wished to become excellent doctors, some harbored a passion for scientific research, others aspired to pursue postgraduate studies, and some simply wished for enough professional competence and medical ethics to take good care of patients, living up to their families’ trust.
The students’ dreams also encapsulate the faith, expectations, and aspirations of their parents and families. Reading those words gave parents a valuable chance to look into the thoughts, ambitions, and goals that their children are pursuing. They were brief lines, yet they carried an entire journey of effort ahead.
Wish Canvases of Odonto-Stomatology Students from the 2024 and 2025 cohorts
Notably, these Wish Canvases of each student cohort are hung in a prominent position within the Office of the Faculty of Odonto-Stomatology. Students pass by their own wishes daily, finding a constant reminder and source of encouragement to strive and fulfill their aspirations throughout their time at the University.
And it is not just the students; lecturers will also regularly see these aspirations, making it easier to empathize with, guide, and walk alongside the students in every dream of personal growth and professional practice. This encapsulates the profound meaning of the educational environment at Nguyen Tat Thanh University’s Faculty of Odonto-Stomatology – a place that goes beyond standard career training to accompany students and families in nurturing and realizing student dreams.
Dialogue between the Faculty Management Board and Parents
The networking session prior to the White Coat Ceremony provided an opportunity for parents to gain a clearer understanding of the training curriculum, the development orientation of the discipline, and the values that the Faculty of Odonto-Stomatology – Nguyen Tat Thanh University consistently upholds in education. This was highlighted through faculty reports and video clips showcasing learning activities, scientific research, extracurriculars, and community work executed by the 2024 and 2025 student cohorts themselves.
Through this meeting, parents caught up with the students’ academic status and directly engaged with the Faculty Management Board and various Departments regarding concerns about the learning process, clinical practice, and career opportunities.
This served as a valuable occasion for the Board to listen, share, and answer parents’ queries, thereby strengthening the bond among the University – Families – Students in the journey of training future Odonto-Stomatology Doctors.

Touring the NTTU Odonto-Stomatology Training Facilities
On this occasion, parents were also guided by the Faculty Management Board to visit the simulated and clinical practice infrastructure at the NTTU Dental Simulation and Clinical Research Center (DSCRC). This facility has been synchronously and modernly invested in to provide students with a learning and practicing environment meeting international advanced standards.
The preclinical labs are equipped with the SIM Intego dental simulation system from Dentsply Sirona (Germany) – one of the leading modern preclinical Odonto-Stomatology simulation frameworks currently utilized by reputable universities worldwide. This system replicates real-life treatment environments and patient models, enabling students to master professional Odonto-Stomatology skills systematically and safely, building up full confidence before transitioning to clinical practice on actual patients.
The Odonto-Stomatology clinical simulation area is also outfitted with Sirona dental chair systems (Germany) alongside various state-of-the-art digital dental apparatuses.
Furthermore, the Center operates with the EBS multimedia digital teaching system (Germany), directly linking each student’s screen with the master display of the lecturer. Through this platform, every technical manipulation by the instructor is instantly streamed to all students, helping them seamlessly observe, absorb, and practice according to correct technical protocols.
Witnessing the practical training infrastructure firsthand, many parents expressed deep impressions and peace of mind knowing that their children are studying in an advanced, modern environment. This remains one of Nguyen Tat Thanh University’s standout strengths in offering learner-centered Odonto-Stomatology training aligned with global standards.

The Parent Appreciation Ritual within the White Coat Ceremony
The moment of donning the white coat for the very first time is always filled with profound emotions for health science students. The coat marks a transformation from a newly enrolled freshman entering the university landscape to a medical learner gradually growing aware of their responsibilities toward patients and society.
The presence of parents during this sacred moment carries a very special meaning. Behind each student lie countless years of love, sacrifice, care, and continuous support from their family. Witnessing their child confidently receive the white coat from lecturers stands as a source of irreplaceable happiness and pride for every parent.
Therefore, succeeding the networking session and tour, parents proceeded into the auditorium to attend the formal White Coat Ceremony. Fresh red roses were pinned on parents’ shirts by the students, bearing the words “Parent Appreciation” as a profound token of gratitude toward their creators. Following the opening speech by People’s Physician, Dr. Ngo Dong Khanh, the atmosphere in the hall seemed to soften and soar through a solemn, deeply moving gesture – the Parent Gratitude Ritual. This ritual bears a distinct hallmark unique to Odonto-Stomatology students at Nguyen Tat Thanh University.
Odonto-Stomatology students from the 2024 and 2025 cohorts expressed gratitude to their parents – those who dedicated absolute love, faith, and sacrifices to bring them to this day, forming the bedrock for future doctors to stand firm on their chosen path. The white coat is put on not only with the pride and responsibility of the learner but is also woven from the endless love, sacrifice, and boundless faith of parents.

Unifying University – Families – Students
The Faculty of Odonto-Stomatology – Nguyen Tat Thanh University strongly believes that education is not solely an isolated effort of a school or a student, but rather a collective journey with the core support of families. For this reason, welcoming parents to the White Coat Ceremony acts as a heartfelt appreciation, a bridge of connection, and a lifelong pledge of enduring alliance among the University – Families – Students.
The day of donning the white coat is a day when students take another step into adulthood. It is also the day when fathers, mothers, and relatives get to see the “seeds” they painstakingly cultivated start blooming on the pathway of becoming future healthcare practitioners. Born from family love, the dedication of the university, and the learners’ inner thirst for knowledge and contribution, these future medical professionals are step-by-step maturing to serve the community with knowledge, medical ethics, and compassion.
