The Faculty of Tourism at Nguyen Tat Thanh University recently organized the program “The Return Day – Connecting NTTU Tourism Journeys”, bringing together over 100 alumni and former trainees alongside 200 students, lecturers, and enterprise representatives, thereby expanding the cooperation network, sharing professional experiences, and creating additional development opportunities for learners.
The Return Day – Connecting the Journeys of NTTU Tourism
The “The Return Day – Connecting NTTU Tourism Journeys” took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere with the participation of generations of learners, lecturers, and enterprise representatives. The program was designed as a space for generations of alumni and former trainees to return to the university, meet their teachers, share professional stories, and inspire students currently studying in the faculty.

Attending the program, guest delegates included: Prof.Dr. Nguyen Khac Thuan – former Head of the Faculty of Tourism and Vietnamese Studies at Nguyen Tat Thanh University (now the Faculty of Tourism); NCS.MSc. Nguyen Thi Thu Thao – Director of Toan Viet Real Estate Investment & Tourism Consulting Co., Ltd.; Mr. Nguyen Hieu Hoc – Managing Director of Canh Cung Co., Ltd. Representing Nguyen Tat Thanh University were: Assoc.Prof.Dr.Meritorious Teacher Nguyen Kim Hong – University President; Dr. Phan Thi Ngan – Dean of the Faculty of Tourism; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Van Hoang, Dr. Nguyen Duong Giang – Vice Deans of the Faculty of Tourism; along with the presence of Heads of Departments, Directors of training programs, lecturers, and over 100 former learners and 200 students of the Faculty of Tourism.
Delivering the opening speech, Dr. Phan Thi Ngan – Dean of the Faculty of Tourism at Nguyen Tat Thanh University, expressed deep gratitude to the generations of lecturers, alumni, and former trainees who have accompanied the Faculty throughout its development journey. According to Dr. Phan Thi Ngan, “The Return Day” is not only an occasion for generations of learners to meet and reminisce about memories under the university roof, but also an opportunity to share professional experiences, infuse motivation, and provide practical perspectives for current students. Through the program, the Faculty of Tourism aims to continue consolidating the alumni network, strengthening the bond between the University, learners, and enterprises, thereby creating more opportunities for cooperation, study, and career development for students.

Through stories about their study journeys, careers, and personal growth, former learners provided students with practical perspectives on the tourism industry, thereby helping learners better visualize the professional environment and orient their personal development.
Speaking at the program, Assoc.Prof.Dr.Meritorious Teacher Nguyen Kim Hong – President of Nguyen Tat Thanh University, emphasized the significance of “The Return Day” in connecting generations, consolidating the academic and professional community of the Faculty of Tourism, while highly appreciating the efforts of the faculty collective in the process of innovation and development, contributing to the overall achievements of the University.

One of the prominent milestones recognized by the University President is that all training programs of the Faculty of Tourism have been accredited and recognized as meeting quality standards according to Circular 04 of the Ministry of Education and Training. Simultaneously, the Faculty has built a continuous training system from bachelor’s, master’s to doctoral levels in the field of tourism, creating a foundation linking training, scientific research, and professional practices.
Scientific research activities within the Faculty have also made positive progress with topics ranging from institutional to provincial and ministerial levels, alongside domestic and international publications. Notably, students of the Faculty of Tourism actively participate in research and innovation, achieving encouraging results at the “Student Scientific Research Award – Euréka”. These results contribute to consolidating the academic environment and research culture within the Faculty.
Former Learners – A Bridge Between the University and the Professional Community
The community of alumni and former trainees is identified as an important resource in the development process of the Faculty of Tourism. The success of generations of learners is not only a testament to training quality but also helps the faculty continue to innovate its programs, align training with practice, and expand career opportunities for students.

Within the framework of the program, a seminar and exchange featuring alumni and former trainees of the Faculty of Tourism brought many real-life stories regarding study journeys, working experiences, and career development. Drawing from the experiences of predecessors, students gained insights into the working environment, industry requirements of Tourism, and the essential skills needed to prepare for their professional journey after graduation. The open exchange atmosphere also enabled students to directly ask questions and share concerns surrounding studies, internships, and future career orientations, thereby equipping them with a foundation to proactively adapt to real-world working environments.

On this foundation, the University expects the alumni network to continue accompanying the faculty by sharing experiences, contributing feedback to training programs, supporting internships and employment, and promoting enterprise cooperation, research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
Enhancing Enterprise Cooperation, Expanding Opportunities for Students
Alongside exchange activities, the program also featured a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony between Nguyen Tat Thanh University and partner enterprises, with the participation of representatives from Toan Viet Real Estate Investment & Tourism Consulting Co., Ltd. and Canh Cung Co., Ltd. The cooperation aims to expand learning, practical training, and employment opportunities for students, while strengthening the connection between education and the human resource demands of the tourism industry.

This activity continues to demonstrate the practice-oriented training approach of the Faculty of Tourism at Nguyen Tat Thanh University, wherein enterprises are not only recruitment partners but also participate in connecting, supporting, and developing professional competencies for learners.
In the context of rapid transformations within the tourism industry driven by digital transformation, artificial intelligence, green economy, and sustainable development requirements, the Faculty of Tourism is expected to continue innovating strongly, enhancing the quality of training and research, expanding enterprise and international cooperation, and building a creative, humanistic academic environment with community responsibility.
“The Return Day – Connecting NTTU Tourism Journeys” concluded with moments of interaction, gratitude, and commemorative photography among generations of learners. Not stopping at just a reunion, the program created additional touchpoints between education, professional experience, and practical enterprise demands, thereby expanding learning, practical training, and career development opportunities for students of the Faculty of Tourism.
