“NTTU Students Join Hands to Support Victims of Agent Orange

On the morning of August 2, joining the atmosphere of the walkathon “For Agent Orange Victims” commemorating the 65th anniversary of the Agent Orange disaster in Vietnam (August 10, 1961 – August 10, 2026), nearly 200 students from Nguyen Tat Thanh University actively participated, spreading the spirit of sharing and community responsibility. On this occasion, Nguyen Tat Thanh University presented nearly 90 million VND to the Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin to join hands in caring for and supporting Agent Orange victims, contributing to spreading humanistic values and the spirit of mutual affection.

The walkathon “For Agent Orange Victims” carries a profound humanistic significance, spreading the spirit of sharing and community responsibility, calling on the entire society to join hands in easing the pain of war. This is also a special occasion to express gratitude to generous hearts supporting victims of Agent Orange/dioxin, while continuing to call for support from society at large, affirming the meaningful message “Leave no one behind”.

Right after the launching ceremony, a large number of staff, lecturers, and nearly 200 students from Nguyen Tat Thanh University, along with thousands of local residents, joined the walkathon route, demonstrating care and compassion toward Agent Orange victims and underprivileged families. These steps not only helped spread the humanistic message “Join hands to ease the pain of Agent Orange”, but also affirmed the sense of responsibility of the youth from Uncle Ho’s named university toward community-focused activities.

In particular, Nguyen Tat Thanh University presented nearly 90 million VND to the Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin to join hands in taking care of living conditions, supporting treatment and rehabilitation, and providing encouragement for Agent Orange victims to rise above adversity in life.

Dr. Nguyen Mai Lan – Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairperson of the University Council, emphasized that accompanying Agent Orange victims is not only a charitable activity, but also the responsibility and affection of every individual and organization toward those enduring the heavy aftermath of war.

According to Dr. Nguyen Mai Lan, Nguyen Tat Thanh University always encourages staff, lecturers, and students to actively participate in social welfare activities, spreading the spirit of compassion, sharing, and civic responsibility.

Dr. Nguyen Mai Lan hopes that the University’s practical contributions will help give more strength to Agent Orange victims, while nurturing a sense of dedication, compassion, and the desire to serve society among the generation of NTTU students.

Over the years, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has always placed great importance on fulfilling social responsibility, connecting the University’s activities with community needs and development. Through numerous practical and persistent programs, humanistic values, the spirit of sharing, and positive contributions to society have been widely spread, making a distinct mark on the community development journey.

The University actively partners with scholarship funds to support students in difficult circumstances, contributing to expanding access to education. In parallel, students of Nguyen Tat Thanh University play a core role in volunteer campaigns such as “Green Summer” and “Spring Volunteer Campaign” with many field-related activities. Through these efforts, the University not only trains high-quality human resources, but also contributes to building a young generation rich in responsibility, compassion, and readiness to serve the community.
