Closing the final round of the 2026 “Turning Waste into Flowers” Competition – A burst of green creativity, students from Nguyen Tat Thanh University made a remarkable mark by successfully winning 03 awards with many unique ideas, affirming their creative spirit, spreading green messages, and demonstrating environmental responsibility.
The 2026 “Turning Waste into Flowers” Competition, organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Student Cultural House in collaboration with Nguyen Tat Thanh University, is a creative playground for pupils and students who love the environment and recycled art. The competition aims to celebrate the 2026 Youth Strength Festival and the 2026 Flowers and Waste Festival.
After a highly competitive preliminary round, the top 47 outstanding teams gathered, bringing unique works recycled from materials that seemed to be discarded. Each product not only demonstrated ingenuity and creative thinking but also strongly conveyed messages about environmental protection and a sustainable green lifestyle.
At the final round, the teams directly displayed and presented their recycled products to the Board of Judges. With novel ideas, confident presentations, and meaningful stories behind each artwork, they created a colorful art space and spread positive energy to all attendees.
As a result, Nguyen Tat Thanh University brought home 03 awards, including: 01 Third Prize, 01 Consolation Prize, and 01 Top 10 Most Impressive Products. Specifically:
The Third Prize went to students Huynh Nhat Hao and Nguyen Tuan Kiet with the message: “The environment stands between two choices – continue to be polluted or be revived.”

The artwork reflects the reality of air and water pollution in modern society. The image of a city filled with smog, waste, and dead fish serves as a warning about the consequences of human exploitation and unconscious discharging.
Students Nguyen Huynh Huu Tri and Pham Nguyen Khanh Van excellently won the Consolation Prize with the message: “Everyone can contribute to protecting the environment through small actions like recycling and reducing waste.”

In addition, the student group consisting of Nguyen Song Man Nhi, Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet, and Tran Ngoc Diem Quynh excellently entered the Top 10 Most Impressive Products with their project named “Suffocation” (Ngộp).
Sharing this joy, Huynh Nhat Hao – a student from class 24DDH1C, majoring in Graphic Design, said that the artwork carries a deep meaning about transformation. Things considered discarded or polluting, such as plastic waste and nylon bags, can turn into a new value if humans change their awareness and actions.
The image of “waste blossoming” is not only visual creativity but also symbolizes hope for an environment that can be reborn. The contrast between the waste section and the beautiful nature section clearly expresses the message: the environment stands between two choices – continue to be polluted or be revived. The deciding factor is human.
Nhat Hao emphasized that every individual plays an important role in preserving the Earth through small actions like sorting waste, limiting single-use plastics, or reusing materials, all of which can contribute to making a big difference. Therefore, “Flowers from Waste” is not just an artistic model but also a call to live more responsibly with the environment, aiming towards a green, clean, beautiful, and sustainable future.

Closing the competition, the achievements are not only the pride of the students but also clear evidence of the education orientation integrated with sustainable development at Nguyen Tat Thanh University. Through academic and creative playgrounds like “Turning Waste into Flowers”, the University constantly spreads a green lifestyle while raising students’ awareness of environmental protection responsibility. From small, practical actions to highly applicable ideas, students of Nguyen Tat Thanh University are step-by-step becoming dynamic, creative, and responsible young citizens, contributing to creating a green, clean, and sustainable future for the community and society.
