Within the framework of the 2026 Green Summer Volunteer Campaign, Nguyen Tat Thanh University (NTTU) continues to affirm the pioneering role of youth in community service activities by simultaneously deploying two key task forces: “Digital Summer” and “Patient Support.” Comprising over 600 volunteer NTTU student soldiers, these teams not only uphold the proactive spirit of students but also contribute to accompanying Ho Chi Minh City in its digital transformation and enhancement of public healthcare quality.

Bringing Digital Knowledge Closer to the Community

In 2026, NTTU established 20 “Digital Summer” volunteer teams with over 350 soldiers, coordinating activities across 20 wards and communes in Ho Chi Minh City.

At these local areas, NTTU students directly assist the Public Administrative Service Center in guiding residents to register and use public service accounts, submit online applications, set up digital signatures, conduct cashless payments, and perform administrative procedures on digital platforms.

Not stopping at supporting procedural resolutions, the teams also organized various experiential activities to enhance digital skills for the community, such as digital citizen spaces, the “Digital Transformation Coffee” model, and disseminating knowledge about digital transformation and artificial intelligence (AI) to residents, youth, and children.

Alongside this, volunteer soldiers participated in digitizing documents, cleaning administrative data, and supporting the standardization of specialized data, thereby contributing to improving management efficiency, building a modern administration, and serving residents more conveniently and transparently.

Through these practical activities, NTTU students not only applied their specialized knowledge to reality but also contributed to spreading awareness about digital transformation, helping residents step-by-step adapt to the digital environment in daily life.

Accompanying the Healthcare Sector, Sharing with Patients

In addition to the “Digital Summer” team, over 250 volunteer soldiers continued to participate in the “Patient Support” team, deployed at Cho Ray Hospital, Nha Be General Hospital, Khanh Hoi General Hospital, and ward/commune healthcare stations across Ho Chi Minh City.

At medical facilities, students undertook various patient support tasks such as welcoming visitors, guiding the medical examination and treatment process, directing residents to the correct specialized areas, helping to reduce pressure on the medical staff and enabling patients to access healthcare services more conveniently.

Notably, the soldiers also accompanied public health check-up programs, assisting with blood pressure measurements, guiding residents in filling out declarations, triaging medical examinations, and updating health data onto the National Health Information System. These activities contributed to enhancing the efficiency of health data management and supporting the construction of an increasingly modern and synchronized public healthcare system.

Not only serving as a professional support force, the “Patient Support” team also projected the image of dynamic, responsible, and compassionate NTTU students through small yet practical actions bringing value to the community.

Spreading the Spirit of Dedication of NTTU Youth

The simultaneous deployment of two key task forces in the 2026 Green Summer Volunteer Campaign demonstrates the proactivity of the youth of Nguyen Tat Thanh University in accompanying the city’s socio-economic development tasks.

While the “Digital Summer” team contributed to promoting the digital transformation process, building digital citizens, and popularizing technological skills for the residents, the “Patient Support” team continued to uphold the spirit of volunteering, sharing responsibilities with the health sector and community healthcare.

M.A. Nguyen Thi Thu Thao, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Tat Thanh University Youth Union, shared that the simultaneous deployment of the “Digital Summer” and “Patient Support” teams not only contributed to effectively implementing the 2026 Green Summer Volunteer Campaign but also created an environment for students to apply professional knowledge to practice, hone professional skills, and elevate their sense of responsibility toward the community. According to her, each volunteer soldier not only brought youthfulness to local areas and hospitals but also became a bridge spreading digital knowledge, compassionate spirit, and the image of dynamic, courageous NTTU students ready to dedicate themselves to social development.

More than just a volunteer campaign, Green Summer 2026 is also a journey for students to mature through practical experiences, forge their resilience, professional skills, and community collaboration skills while nurturing a sense of civic responsibility. Through the values cultivated from each activity, NTTU youth continue to reaffirm the image of a dynamic, creative, compassionate generation of students who are always ready to bring their knowledge and enthusiasm to contribute to the sustainable development of the community and the country.
