At the NTT Institute of International Education (NIIE) – Nguyen Tat Thanh University, this orientation is integrated not only into the curriculum but is also deployed through numerous specialized workshops, practical projects, corporate engagement activities, and academic playgrounds for students.

One of the familiar academic activities at NIIE is specialized workshop sessions with the participation of experts and corporate representatives. NIIE students have had opportunities to meet representatives from Decathlon Vietnam, Vinpearl, Liberty, Six Senses Con Dao, Bao Kim HQ, as well as CEOs and Co-founders in finance, investment, and technology sectors. Instead of only acquiring theoretical knowledge in class, students approach real-world career stories, practical case studies, and perspectives from those currently working in the industry.
Through these workshops, students can better visualize their future careers, understand what enterprises require from young personnel, and orient themselves more effectively towards their chosen major.
Project-Based Learning: Learning by solving practical problems
Parallel to workshops, NIIE also promotes the Project-Based Learning method – learning through real-world projects. In each module, students do not just absorb knowledge but are also involved in handling simulated problems closely aligned with the corporate environment.

For instance, business students can construct marketing plans, analyze markets, or establish business models. Technology students can develop software solutions or optimize operational processes. This workflow helps students cultivate teamwork skills, critical thinking, time management, and presentation capabilities.
More importantly, students realize that knowledge does not merely reside in textbooks but is always tied to real-world problem-solving approaches.
Corporate Engagement: Bringing the classroom closer to reality
Apart from learning in lecture halls, NIIE students frequently participate in corporate engagement activities. This is an opportunity for them to observe how businesses operate and directly connect module contents with real working environments.
NIIE students learn about macroeconomics directly at FPT Securities
For example, in modules related to finance or macroeconomics, students can visit and learn practically at FPT Securities to gain deeper insights into the stock market, corporate activities, and economic factors driving the market. Meanwhile, field trips to Yakult Vietnam help students observe manufacturing processes, operations, and actual corporate management. For hospitality and service management students, activities at Mermaid Seaside deliver a clearer perspective on hotel operations and customer experience.
These trips help students comprehend lessons more deeply while gaining practical viewpoints on the careers they pursue.
Academic Competitions: Where students test their real capabilities
Annually, NIIE organizes numerous academic playgrounds to foster students’ skills and creative thinking. Among them, NIIE Startup is a competition that helps students practice entrepreneurial mindsets, construct business models, and develop ideas into products with practical application capabilities.
Besides class hours, NIIE also organizes various academic activities such as NIIE Startup and NIIE Scientific Research
Concurrently, NIIE Scientific Research assists students in approaching scientific research from an applied perspective. They learn how to define problems, collect data, analyze, and present research findings logically and based on sound evidence.
Outstanding ideas from these two competitions also have opportunities to be further nurtured at the NTTU Innovation and Incubation Center (NIIC), creating a premise for participating in major national competitions in the future.

In addition, students can participate in many other academic activities, such as:
● The English Elocution Contest organized by the NTTU Foreign Language Center;
● NIIE Runway – where students apply knowledge from the Professional Image and Manner Construction course into practice;
● NIIE Fair – an activity linked to the Event Management module, helping students directly conceptualize, operate, and manage events;
In addition to domestic activities, NIIE students also have opportunities to participate in various international programs and conferences, such as the Youth Model ASEAN Conference 2026 in Singapore, the Regen Asia Summit, or GITEX ASIA & AI Everything.

Not only bringing professional knowledge, these programs also help students broaden their perspectives, practice foreign languages, and enhance their ability to work in multicultural environments. In addition to the formal curriculum, NIIE students are highly encouraged to participate in short-term courses and professional certifications to sharpen their expertise. Notable examples include the 1C Software Certificate for Accounting students, or certifications in Digital Marketing and E-commerce like ASU FIBBA.
