Business Administration Students Explore the Corporate Environment Right from Their First Year

Recently, more than 200 first-year students majoring in Business Administration at Nguyen Tat Thanh University had a practical learning and field trip at Hoang Thong Wood Processing Joint Stock Company. The program not only helps students learn about modern production processes and business operation models, but also creates opportunities to access a realistic working environment, contributing to connecting classroom knowledge with the demands of the labor market.

During the program, students directly explored the enterprise’s modern edge-glued panel production process, ranging from raw material reception, AI-powered sorting, finger jointing, panel assembly, sanding and finishing to production support systems and quality management. In particular, the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in the raw material sorting stage gave students a practical perspective on digital transformation and automation in the manufacturing sector, helping to enhance productivity, accuracy, and product quality.

Students directly observe activities at the factory

Besides observing the production line, students were also introduced to the factory’s operating system, solutions for occupational safety, quality control, and environmental protection. The enterprise has synchronously invested in a central dust collection system, automatic fire protection, wastewater treatment, moisture-conditioning rooms, and international-standard joining adhesives, aiming toward sustainable and eco-friendly manufacturing development.

Interacting with Business Administration students from Nguyen Tat Thanh University, the factory representative of Hoang Thong Wood Processing Joint Stock Company shared about the company’s establishment and development process, the investment orientation for the new factory in Binh Duong (now Ho Chi Minh City), as well as the journey of building a modern production line to meet domestic and international market demands.

The factory representative also introduced the operating model and quality management process, while answering many questions from students regarding production technology, product standards, career opportunities, and essential skills required when working in a corporate environment.
