NTTU Students Participate in Training on Startup Project Development and AI Applications

Recently, Nguyen Tat Thanh University successfully organized an online training session on developing creative ideas, applying AI, and enhancing the potential of innovative startup projects for 87 students. The program was implemented by the Center for Innovation and Startup Incubation, featuring instruction from Dr. Hoang Thinh Nhan, Deputy Director of the Center and Head of the Technology and Innovation Department.

The training session was conducted online, focusing on two main areas: developing creative ideas and startup potential; and applying AI technology to evaluate, refine, and enhance the development capability of innovative startup projects. This activity aims to support students in accessing foundational knowledge of innovative thinking, methods for identifying practical problems, defining target customers, analyzing market needs, and building project development directions.

Equipping innovative thinking from practical issues

During the program, 87 students were guided on how to develop ideas based on problems encountered in academics, daily life, the community, and businesses. Additionally, learners were introduced to methods for evaluating project feasibility through market research, problem validation, collecting evidence on real needs, analyzing industry development trends, and applying digital technology in the solution-building process.

By sharing practical experiences, asking questions, and analyzing issues together, students not only gained knowledge from the instructor but also learned from one another, gradually refining their perspectives and development directions for their projects, thereby creating a foundation to effectively apply these skills to the practical situations discussed in the subsequent section.

A highlight of the training session was the “case study” activity involving real-world situations shared by the instructor and the participating students themselves. Instead of just receiving theoretical knowledge, students were involved in analyzing specific problems, discussing the feasibility of ideas, implementation resources, technological capabilities, target markets, and project scalability.

Applying AI to enhance the quality of startup projects

During the discussion session, the “Ea Agri” project by student Phan Dang Huy, majoring in Data Science at the Faculty of Information Technology, was introduced as a practical case study. The project aims for a smart agriculture model, integrating features such as pest detection and AI applications to automate certain cultivation processes.

From this idea, the instructor and students analyzed common challenges when implementing student startup projects, such as limited resources, technical infrastructure, input data, testing capabilities, and product development roadmaps.

Through the Ea Agri case, the class expanded the discussion on how to transform a technological idea into a project with a solid practical foundation. Students were guided on how to identify core problems, verify user needs, select technology suitable for their implementation capacity, and build project development steps in a more feasible direction.

According to the program’s objectives, after the training, students will have a better understanding of the development process for an innovative startup idea, from problem identification, solution building, and market potential assessment to finalizing project proposals. The training content also helps students better prepare for startup competitions, student scientific research, and project incubation activities implemented by the University.
