A careless comment, an unconsented photo shared, or unverified information spread in seconds… can all leave long-lasting impacts on others. For every NTTUer, cyber civility starts with the way we message, post, and share content every single day.
1. Surf the Web Civilly – Remember the 4 “NOs”
To build a safe and respectful digital environment, every NTTU student should practice the 4 core principles:

NO insulting, derogatory, or personal attacks: A joke made “just for fun” can still cause deep emotional hurt. Always respect everyone’s appearance, gender, opinions, and unique differences.

NO cyberbullying or harassment: Indecent, sexually suggestive, threatening, or uncomfortable remarks have no place in civilized communication.

NO unauthorized posting or sharing of personal information: Photos, private messages, and personal details belong to the individual. Always ask for permission before uploading or sharing.

NO sharing of misleading or unverified information: Fact-check your sources before hitting “Share.” Do not let a casual click spread fake news, prejudice, or negativity.
2. Self-Check Questions Before You Post – Comment – Share
Before interacting on any online platform, take a moment to ask yourself:

Is this information accurate?

Will this content hurt anyone?

Have I respected their privacy?

If I were the person being mentioned, would I feel respected?
